Concert Reviews and Features

concert review from South Bend (Indiana) Tribune

"The quartet played through the adagio with pathos and the allegretto with restless vigor, arriving at the end with a gleeful certainty."

concert review by Stephen Brookes, Washington Post

"an elegant mix of passion, ferocity and feathery delicacy"

concert review by John Cutler, Lincoln Journal Star

"Debussy likewise must be executed well, as many Friends patrons nearly have the war horse memorized. The Euclid's sparkling energy was evident in the opening section, and the ensemble kept the energy through the ravishing third movement, into the fast-moving finale."

concert review by Michael Miller, BerkshireFineArts.com

"remarkable assurance and sophistication"

concert review by W. Gerald Cochran, Classical Voice of North Carolina

"The Euclid Quartet played the work [Mozart K. 589] with elegance and grace fit for a king."

concert review by Mark Kanny, Pittsburgh Tribune-Review

"The emotional and timbral richness the young musicians brought to [Beethoven's Op. 18 No. 3] brought to mind the old-world approach of the Guarneri Quartet."

"The Euclid performance was devoted, expert and exhilarating."

Help with Publicity Photos

(Click here for a PRINTER-FRIENDLY version of the following instructions.)

If you are having trouble downloading the full-size (high-resolution) publicity photo files, one of the following methods may work for you:

METHOD A:

1. Move your mouse cursor over one of the press kit photo links.  If you are using Windows, right-click on the link (click the button on the top right of your mouse).  If you are using a Mac, control-click on the link (hold down the control button, while clicking the mouse button).

2. A pop-up menu should appear.  Choose "save target as" or "save link as" (the exact wording depends on the browser you're using).

3. The file may begin to download immediately to a default location on your computer.  If your browser asks you where to save the file, once you have chosen a name and location, the large image file should begin to download.

METHOD B:

1. Move your mouse cursor over one of the links above, and click on it like you would with a normal link.

A large version of the image should begin to fill the browser window.  At first, it may not look like a high-resolution photo:

  • The image may look very jagged at first.  As more and more details of the image are loaded, it will start to look much clearer and sharper.  Because these are large files, it may take a while before all of the details are loaded (especially over a slow internet connection).  Please be patient.

  • You may see only part of the photo at first.  The image should gradually become more and more complete, as the file continues to load.  Because these are large files, it may take a while for the entire file to be loaded (especially over a slow internet connection).  Please be patient.

  • Many browsers display a reduced-size image, in order to show the entire picture at once.  (The full-size, high-resolution image will be much too large to fit on your screen, at 100%.)   This reduction by your browser is just for display purposes, and will not affect the size or quality of the image file that you will eventually save to your computer.

2. Once your browser has finished loading the file, move your mouse cursor anywhere over the image.  If you are using Windows, right-click on the link (click the button on the top right of your mouse).  If you are using a Mac, control-click on the link (hold down the control button, while clicking the mouse button).

3. A pop-up menu should appear.  Choose "save image as" (or something similar -- the exact wording depends on the browser you're using).

4. Your browser will ask you where to save the file.  Once you have chosen a name and location, the image file should be available on your computer.
